The Edit: Autumnal Gems

epending on where you live in the world, autumn can be the most magical season of the year. It can often feel like a “reward” for enduring the harsher weather we know is just around the corner. The astonishing colors of foliage changing, “With fruit the vines that round the thatch-eves run,” sweater weather, boot season, Halloween, Thanksgiving…we could go on and on! Focusing on “Autumnal Gems” for the November Edit is a great opportunity to showcase the many creative ways in which COUTURE designers and brands are influenced by the season. From pumpkin colored gems like garnets or Mexican fire opal to warm earth tones of citrine, topaz and zircon to evergreen flashes of green tourmaline or malachite to auburn shades of jasper, gemstones and enamel capture the natural beauty that surrounds us during the Fall months.

Further illustrating the influence of nature on our talented designers and brands are more literal themes of flora and fauna, and of course, even left on its own, the rich glow of yellow gold can evoke the coziness of a warm sweater on a cold day.
