The roots of OMI Privé are planted deeply in the rarified world of exceptional gemstones. Founded by Niveet in 2012, the brand is an organic expansion of Omi Gems, which was established in 1985 by Niveet’s dad, Omi, and mom, Preeti, herself from a long line of ruby miners dating back to 19^th century Burma.

The business quickly rose to prominence as an internationally recognized purveyor of rare loose gemstones and continues to enjoy a long-standing reputation for adhering to exacting standards in both quality of materials and integrity in business.

From a young age, this legacy was deeply influential in forming Niveet’s character and worldview, and being surrounded by beautiful gemstones fueled his passion. Working alongside his father since the late 1990’s, Niveet gained a deep appreciation for the core essence of stones and a discerning eye for identifying exquisite specimens. He sees within gemstones natural masterpieces and a hidden magic, a skill that is bolstered by years of empirical knowledge.

OMI Privé’s one-of-a-kind designs are driven by Niveet’s desire to put gemstones front and center. Working with a vast palette of colors, unexpected and non-traditional combinations result in pieces that are at once sophisticated and modern. Applying his discriminating eye for the detailed properties of each hand-selected stone he uses in his collections, he’s able to masterfully highlight nuanced tones and flashes of color, unearthing the depths of scintillation in each gem.

In one piece he may draw out the unparalleled blues and greens in a breathtaking opal with a complementing frame of tsavorite garnet and hauyne, in another, a cobalt spinel is set aglow by juxtaposing Paraiba tourmalines, in yet another the delicate pink asterisms of a star ruby are reflected in a surrounding halo of sapphires.
