TACORI’s designs evoke a sense of joy that is central to its core tenets. With a deeply-seeded belief in jewelry’s ability to commemorate the most celebratory moments in life, their pieces contain details exclusive to artisanal design, with sentiments purposely woven into each line and curve of their silhouettes. While showcasing a keen understanding of the sensibilities of contemporary women, their adherence to excellence pays homage to their past and honors a family tradition that dates back three generations.

Both Gilda Balian and Haig Tacorian, the brand’s co-founders, had origins in Romania. Gilda’s jeweler father, Harry Balian, was once arrested and imprisoned for a year when, after being compelled by the Romanian Communist regime to surrender all precious metals, he was found making gold wedding rings for a family friend. After meeting in California, Gilda and Haig worked together with Harry to form B&T, a jewelry company specializing in vintage designs. In 1979, the couple, now married, established TACORI in Downtown LA’s famed jewelry district, where the business thrived for decades.

Following a lifetime of watching their parents build the TACORI brand, siblings Paul and Nadine Tacorian joined the family business as Director of Marketing and Director of Production, respectively, roles in which they had an immediate impact on the growth and direction of the brand.

A strategic partnership with the first ever season of ABC’s “The Bachelorette” resulted in a surge in demand for the brand’s engagement rings. The increased visibility and popularity necessitated a move to their own, 25,000+ square foot, LA-based space, where the duo, now CEO and COO, can oversee each meticulous step in the design and manufacturing process.

The TACORI Crescent is a central theme throughout all of their designs. Originally devised to be a hidden symbol of love, it has now become a foundational element of their design language, with iterations of elegant crescents lending depth and distinction to the pieces. Emblematic of the intentional, iconic design elements that are a key feature of all of the brand’s pieces, the company’s seal bears witness to its heritage, with a “B” and a “T” visible at the center of its mark of authenticity.
