Barefoot Luxury

Since founding her eponymous brand in 1992, designer Tamara Comolli has been showcasing her passion for working with vibrant, rare and colorful gemstones. With an emphasis on “barefoot luxury,” Tamara’s collection embodies a spirit of freedom and happiness; a playful escape from the mundanities of every-day life that incorporates a sense of whimsy, while remaining elegant and feminine.

Her iconic Mikado Collection features distinctive, acorn-shaped gemstones, and her Candy Collection is inspired by the vibrancy of summer. With a rainbow of gemstones including Amethyst, Carnelian, Mandarin Garnet, Peridot, Swiss Topaz, Green and Pink Tourmaline set in 18k gold, this collection is as joyful as it is versatile.

Sugar High

The work of Berlin-based designer, Alina Abegg, is fueled by passion, curiosity and nostalgia. Alina finds the magic hidden in her memories and recollections, and transforms them into contemporary treasures.

The designer is especially enamored with gemstones, and the magic inherent in these gifts of nature. In the brand’s Sugar High Collection, Alina transforms easily recognizable “treats” into unexpected, impeccably crafted designs. Inspired by her favorite sweet treats, this wistful collection includes fine gemstone interpretations of colorful Pez and swirls of licorice, resulting in eye-catching and bold style statements with a ’90’s flair.

Twinkle Twinkle 

Designer Emily P. Wheeler‘s love of gemstones is a core foundation of her brand. Drawing on her years of experience as a fashion model, as well as influences from her father, an architecture photographer, she combines her organically developed knowledge of gemstones into sleek, geometric designs with wholly contemporary color combinations.

Emily’s Twinkle collection combines colorful enamel with gemstones and is, according to the designer, “a celebration of joy.” Her desire to spread joy through her jewelry extends to the values she is committed to as a brand. A member of the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC), her pieces are designed with recycled 18k gold and Kimberly Process-certified, conflict-free diamonds. With goals to uphold environmental responsibility, Emily continually makes ethical business decisions that are focused on social impact, and aligns herself with gemstone dealers and others in the ecosystem of her business that maintain the same principles.

Celestial themes are a foundational aesthetic of the brand, and can be seen throughout her extensive collections. As a child, Andrea was always curious about the phase of the moon at any given time. This fascination with the sky is articulated both literally and symbolically, and has evolved to include her artistic interpretation of the sky at all phases of the day and night. The designer’s Moon Phase collection allows her collectors to customize a piece that commemorates life events like weddings, births and anniversaries with a brilliant showcase of the phase of the moon on a specific day.

Over the Rainbow

In each of her pieces, designer Melissa Spalten of M. Spalten evokes a sense of vibrancy and playfulness. Continually inspired by her hometown, San Antonio, Texas, she designs pieces in unique, sophisticated combinations of colors, shapes and patterns to luxurious effect, inviting the women who wear her pieces to express their individuality through adornment.

Melissa hand selects each of the gemstones with which she works, whether subtly opaque, or a rainbow of brilliance, and her passion for color is evident throughout her collections. Each piece is meticulously crafted by Los Angeles-based artisans, and Melissa pays meticulous attention to every detail of the fabrication process ensuring that her bold and colorful creations can be passed down through generations.
