Recarlo Reimagined: Heritage Meets Modern Glamour

S
ince 1967, family owned brand, Recarlo, has been carrying on the traditions of excellence in jewelry design and craftsmanship for which Italy has long been celebrated. Founded by husband and wife team, Carlo and Bruna Re, the couple is now joined in business by their sons, Giorgio and Paolo who, along with the steady leadership of General Manager, Giuselppe Pinto, are thoughtfully guiding the brand in shaping its next chapter.

With fresh photography that highlights the brand’s diverse offerings, Recarlo is getting a “glow up” in the visual language of its messaging.

Recarlo is approaching COUTURE 2026 with a renewed spirit. With fresh photography that highlights the brand’s diverse offerings, Recarlo is getting a “glow up” in the visual language of its messaging.

It’s not often that a heritage brand of Recarlo’s stature so gracefully interprets the evolution of the times while continuing to captivate clients across the world, so we were curious about the thinking behind the venturesome move. Massimiliano “Max” Bonoli, who leads the brand’s creative direction, shared their collective vision.

COUTRE: While maintaining the exceptional standards of materials and craftsmanship for which it has long been celebrated, Recarlo is redefining the way it presents its collections. What inspired this shift?

Max Bonoli: More than a shift, I would describe it as a bold evolution. Recarlo has deep roots in manufacturing excellence and the meticulous selection of gemstones, but today we feel the need to project these pillars into a more contemporary dimension. Our signature—the Heart-Cut Diamond—is no longer just a symbol of eternal love; it becomes a true statement of style. For sixty years, we have been custodians of the bridal world. Today, we are ready to step onto the international stage with Fine and High Jewellery collections, including one-of-a-kind pieces designed for those who seek distinctive, fashion-forward luxury.

C: Can you walk us through the decision-making process behind this evolution?

MB: It was a natural, collective transformation. Recarlo is a mature brand, fully aware that today jewelry should not only celebrate a single moment, but become a living, breathing part of everyday life. We want to move beyond glass cases reserved for special occasions and into people’s daily expression of style.

C: Recarlo jewels are often seen as heirloom pieces. Are you passing the baton to a new generation of collectors?

MB: Absolutely. The concept of legacy has evolved: today, what is passed down is not just an object of value, but an emotion—an extension of one’s identity. We are speaking to a new generation of collectors who see jewelry as a form of self-expression. We create pieces that become part of the wearer, offering a sense of individuality that transcends time, blending family heritage with a contemporary, cosmopolitan aesthetic.

C: Speaking of lifestyle: who is the Recarlo woman?

MB: Our woman is free, cultured, and fully aware of her own power and beauty. She is not defined by a destination, but by her presence in the world. Whether she is at an exclusive club in Capri or in a private retreat devoted to tranquility, she chooses to express herself authentically.

C: How should Recarlo jewelry be worn today?

MB: With dynamism and versatility. The invitation is to play: to layer, to mix, to create a personal signature style. Interacting with jewelry should be an act of creative freedom; we want every woman to become her own stylist.

C: Do you believe this evolution will attract a new clientele?

MB: Without a doubt. We are speaking to a new “tribe” of women—those who are attuned to global trends, who appreciate Italian culture and taste, but seek fresh and contemporary interpretations. While continuing to inspire our loyal clients, we are also attracting those who look for excellence that feels modern, glamorous, immediate, and visually striking.

C: Do you think this approach resonates with younger generations?

MB: It already does. Young women today choose Recarlo because they find in it a strong identity and a distinct point of view that stands apart from uniformity. They are looking for precious pieces that can tell their story; we are building a bridge between Italian artisanal heritage and the modern aspirations of a bold, new audience.

C: What is the common thread that connects the brand’s heritage to this new vision?

MB: Our guiding principle is what we call Warm Luxury: a form of luxury that is emotional, intimate, and deeply human. We do not seek to create distance between the brand and those who choose it, but rather a sense of connection. And of course, there is our unmistakable signature—the heart-shaped diamond. It embodies our passion for beauty and our unwavering commitment to excellence—values that remain constant everywhere, from Milan to New York.
