ne of our favorite things about jewelry (among many!), is its ability to spark joy. Sure, it’s fun wearing something that would be equally at home in a museum, and we love pieces that bring out our most glamorous side, but there are those pieces that you look at and they just make you happy, despite what may be happening in the world or in our lives personally.

While we are cognizant that happiness doesn't lie in material things, this small sampling of some of the spectacular creations of COUTURE's designers and brands beautifully encapsulates the moments, experiences and visceral reactions that add joy to our lives.

Whether a reference to music like Buddha Mama’s embellished guitar pick, Jade Ruzzo’s cymbal pendant or Sorellina’s cassette tape, anything with animals of any kind like Amáli’s horse pendant carved from a lovely pink tourmaline, personalized pieces like AZLEE’s fingerprint collection or Shinkai’s double-sided monogram rings, designs with meaningful talismans and sentimental charms all serve to put a smile on our face.

Of course, bold, colorful gemstones and enamel go a long way to elevating one’s mood, with hues of blues and greens reigning supreme, floral pieces or anything inspired by nature are that much more joyful when rendered in precious metals and gemstones, and sometimes diamonds set in gold remind us of champagne popping. Pieces with hidden functionality are filled with delight and whimsy, like Mined + Found’s “chocolate box” ring, and for those that need to be encouraged more plainly, designers like Gwen Myers from Eden Presley or Marie Lichtenberg have got us covered with overt messages of encouragement.
