hether I’m traveling or at home in New York City, one of my favorite things to do is visit jewelry stores. While this is hardly surprising given my obsession with jewelry, in addition to my perpetual desire to ogle fabulous design, I get an almost giddy pleasure seeing the work of so many COUTURE designers and brands out “in the wild.” I always feel a bit like Will Farrell in Elf when his boss at Gimbles announces that Santa is coming the next day, “Santa!!!! Oh my God! Santa? Here?! I know him! I know him!!!” Looking in the cases and seeing the names of so many people I admire and whom I also consider friends is always such a rush.
