The Edit: Valentine’s Day

I
t is commonly held wisdom that Valentine’s Day is a big day for jewelry….as it should be! The themes of the holiday are centered around hearts, flowers, chocolates, tokens of love, words of affection, heart-throbbing hues of pinks and reds and even Cupid himself. When those hearts, love tokens and words of affection are crafted in noble metals or carved in stone, the bouquets are made up of precious gemstones, the chocolates are, in fact, enamel with a sliding cover of textured gold (as seen in Mined and Found’s delectable “sweet life” ring), and cupid is hand carved into high karat gold, the sentiment of the holiday is that much more endearing. And of course, the range of colored gems that embrace the palette of the holiday is wide and far reaching. From varying tones of pink tourmaline to the deepest reds of ruby, nature offers its own invitation to celebrate love.
