Studio Visits with Will Kahn: Anita Ko

O
n a sunny day in Beverly Hills I buzzed the Anita Ko HQ and was quickly let inside. It’s fitting that it would be based in the epicenter of wealth, Beverly Hills, which conjures images of Rolls Royces and Zsa Zsa Gabor with shopping bags and toy poodles.

A child of LA, Anita understands the cool-girl vibe.

While Anita’s jewelry is decidedly luxe, it is made for the new Beverly Hills. This is Hailey Beiber and Kaia Gerber’s town (both regular clients of Anita). More Tesla than Rolls, more Matcha than Spago.

Her signature, investment-quality diamond collars, come in all variations of cut and size, and are expected to be layered effortlessly in a casual look. Throw them on with a t-shirt and head to the Polo Lounge for lunch- that’s the idea.

Anita greeted me warmly and showed me to a conference room set with hundreds if not thousands of earrings, rings, collars and bracelets. Each piece is a modern woman’s dream: stackable and wearable luxury.

A child of LA, Anita understands the cool-girl vibe. Her best-selling safety pin earring was inspired by her teenage years coming to shows on the sunset strip. Thrown on her own ear with massive diamond drops, the look is decadent, sure, but decidedly cool.
