uring the 1990s, small jewelry was dubbed “personal,” mainly because the pieces were almost too subtle for anyone to see besides the person wearing them. Well now, like slip dresses and supermodels, there’s been a big revival of small jewels with little bracelets leading the charge.

While the spirit of the styles feels youthful, they are in fact the kind of toss it on wear it with everything type of designs that are perfect for any age during the long summer days just on the horizon.
Pomellato
Like any good comeback, a bit of a reinvention has happened along the way to make the pieces feel right for now. COUTURE designers ANNA MACCIERI ROSSI, MIKE JOSEPH, POMELLATO and SELIM MOUZANNAR among others have elevated the concept with a focus on design. In other words, these jewels aren’t made in the minimalist mode of yesteryear. They have impossible to overlook details.

Pomellato
Pom Pom Dot, a new collection from Pomellato, took design cues from a gold necklace with button motifs made in 1975 by the Italian jeweler. The functional fashion element referenced the stylish mode of the jewelry label, then and now. Buttons also are a rarely seen talisman in jewelry symbolizing comfort and security.
Diamonds, malachite and mother-of-pearl decorate the reversible Pom Pom Dot bracelets. This double sided design detail is a fabulous feature that makes the bracelet feel like two designs in one.
Selim Mouzannar
Stars are a signature motif of Selim Mouzannar’s Istanbul collection. The celestial subject is a poetic reference to the stars above the ancient city that reflect in the sea surrounding the port. According to the designer, the scene embodies “the notion of success, determination and self-assurance.”
Selim’s Istanbul star bracelets come in twinkle, twinkle little star sizes and big stars on little slender bracelets. Stacked up they form a stellar constellation.
Mike Joseph
Petali, Mike Joseph’s floral collection, is not a bunch of standard perennials. They are some exotic blooms composed of titanium rendered in all kinds of stylish colors and lit up with diamonds growing from gold stems.
When the designer takes the flowers into miniature on little bracelets none of the artistry is lost. The petals have a natural quality placed in various positions. They are like the perfect little wrist corsage.
Anna Maccieri Rossi
A former watch designer, Anna Maccieri Rossi makes her jewelry all about time. The concept of what we do with our time is her constant source of inspiration. On her little statement bracelets she adds in substantially sized circular motifs with hand painted visions of the day and night sky.
There are also square plaques on gold chains with stars, a view of the sky and a tiny heart reflecting a love of every moment.
