The legacy of this family-run business began with Amir Hadjibay, who as a young man traveled between Iran and India, trading elaborately woven Persian rugs for precious gemstones. He eventually gained access to India’s regal maharajahs, where he was able to acquire pieces from their legendary jewelry collections.

Amir went on to establish a business in Milan that was known throughout Europe for its showcase of precious gemstones. Having been immersed in the world of fine gems, it was a natural step for Amir’s two sons, Moris and Giacamo, to begin creating their own designs that showcased the precious gems of which they were so enamored. Today, the firm also includes Moris’ two sons, Marco and Manuel, and Giacamo’s daughter and son, Nicole and David.

Throughout the years, several historically relevant stones have passed through the Hadjibay family’s hands. From the “Tear of the Sultan,” an exceptionally fine 60 carat natural, unheated royal blue Burma sapphire, to the “Spirit of the Sea,” a superb 215 carat unheated emerald-cut blue sapphire, the family has been entrusted with some of the most important gemstones in the world. And yet, in their relentless quest for perfection, each stone in their possession is re-cut to maximize its inherent beauty.
