ounder of Akillis, Caroline Gaspard, has always loved jewelry. Growing up, she would watch, fascinated, as her mother frequently picked out a selection of gemstones from a close family friend and diamond dealer, marveling at their beauty and delighting at the journey from gem to jewelry. This appreciation for exquisite gems was firmly implanted in the young Caroline, and as her own personal style and tastes evolved, she realized that her options for self-expression through traditional fine jewelry were limited. In 2007, wanting to create the bold and audacious pieces that broke from tradition, that she herself coveted, and that established a new version of French High Jewelry, she launched Akillis.

The brand feels like an invitation to live one’s most courageous life. The jewelry is a visceral reminder of the insouciance of playing dress up as a kid, when the jaunty tossing of a strand of beads or the piling up of fingers with rings had the power to cloak one in a fresh new identity. Understanding that personalities are multi-faceted, Caroline creates work with broad appeal, transcending confines of age or gender and serving as the perfect punctuation to a variety of style sensibilities.

While expansive, there is a personal motivation and story tied to each her designs. Whether inspired by a fleeting feeling, a moment in time or hopes for the future, she captures the essence of her emotions in her unisex collections. Fueled by passion, with a competitive and daring spirit, Caroline lives her life unapologetically and on her own terms. She infuses her work with the force of her own will, adding an extra layer of energy to her designs. In keeping with her uncompromising ethos, she is exacting in her standards of craftsmanship and the quality of the materials with which she works. Working with a dedicated team of artisans in Lyon at one of the most prestigious factories in France, she is adept at capturing a sense of vitality throughout her designs.

One of the brand’s iconic collections, Capture Me, is a representation of Caroline’s personal vision of love, “The expression of an ardent passion,” according to Caroline. The sharp aesthetic is illustrative of the duality of freedom and possession, the triangular pattern juxtaposed by precise curves establishing a poetic geometry. Crafted in a variety of materials, including rich 18k yellow, rose or white gold or sleek and dauntless titanium, either with our without diamonds, the prolific range of styles in the collection offers the opportunity for play and experimentation.
