Brand Spotlight: EÉRA

I
t was at a vintage shop in Tokyo, Japan that friends Chiara Capitani and Romy Blanga first discovered an item that would become the foundation of their fine jewelry collection, EÉRA. A simple snap hook inspired the duo to reflect on its functionality, and to begin conceiving of the myriad ways in which they could apply this functionality to jewelry. The functional spring mechanism could transform the way jewelry was perceived and worn; by linking snap hooks together, adding dangling elements, turning bracelets into necklaces, earrings into pendants, the styling possibilities, the two realized, were endless.

Made by hand in their atelier in Vicenza, EÉRA utilizes proprietary techniques in the creation of the unique hues incorporated into their pieces.

Prior to embarking on the 2019 launch of their collection, Chiara and Romy were already working in fashion, Chiara as a designer, and Romy in the public relations field. Hailing from Milan, Italy, they had always been drawn to fine jewelry. With their new brand, they hoped to showcase a less serious side of the craft, albeit one that held firm to the standards of exceptional craftsmanship for which Italy, and specifically the Vicenza region, is known.

Made by hand in their atelier in Vicenza, EÉRA utilizes proprietary techniques in the creation of the unique hues incorporated into their pieces. While the application of complex processes such as electrophoresis and aerography may not be the norm in jewelry fabrication, when showcased in the brand’s utilitarian aesthetic, the results are anything but fussy. By merging precious metals and diamonds with unexpected pops of neon colors, EÉRA’s jewelry is both playful and enduring and is intended to be worn every day, as well as passed down through generations.

The ability to customize their jewelry means the brand appeals to a wide audience of tastes and style sensibilities, and that collectors of their work can convey a range of emotions, moods and attitudes through adornment. They also look at their work as a link between the past and the present and encourage their many fans to combine EÉRA jewelry with pieces in their existing collection.

These modern heirlooms are both current and collectable and, while a relatively young brand, their jewelry has already gained favor with some of today’s biggest celebrities and global tastemakers who are drawn to the clean, geometric lines and unapologetic silhouettes.
