While the IDORO name may be relatively new, its roots dates back to 2000, when Sergy, a gemologist and designer, began diamond cutting before registering Izmestiev Diamonds in 2006. Originally a diamond cutting business, as Sergy’s familiarity with the materials with which he works deepened, he felt compelled to amplify their unique voices through the creation of high jewelry. IDORO is the continuation of these decades of years working with diamonds, gemstones and one-of-a-kind high jewelry while establishing a clearer, contemporary language.

Telling us that he’s most drawn to working with natural gemstones, Sergy explains, “I’m drawn to the individuality of each stone; its structure, color and inner character. The design develops from the material itself rather than from a fixed idea imposed on it.” This sense of the preordainment is reflected in the brand’s core narratives, which describe the reasons for a piece becoming part of the “Living Structure” or “Living Form” body of work as an imperative.

A piece falls under the umbrella of “Living Form” when “a creation asks to feel alive,” capturing a moment in time when hidden beauty reveals itself. Explaining that the pieces in this collection “unfold,” they can be identified by their graceful, rhythmic lines and fluid forms. “Living Form” captures that elusive moment when a flower blooms, wind bends a branch and lifts a pedal; not a replica of nature, but a singular interpretation that pushes the boundaries of the materials that serve to materialize the design concepts.

“Living Structure” is the language the brand employs when “a creation demands architecture rather than ornament, articulation rather than gesture, and internal logic rather than surface effect.” The brand contends that a piece becomes part of this collection when it asks to be “resolved.” In these designs, geometry, tension, proportion and a structured elegance takes form, showcasing reverence for nature in the revelation of light and balance.
