Brand Spotlight: Three Stories

T
hree Stories is rooted in a steadfast belief in the power of storytelling, love and faith in the future. The three women behind the brand, Camelia Chiriac, Barbara Laird and Emily Cohen, were close friends and colleagues for over a decade before launching their own collection. Their profound understanding of jewelry’s ability to convey stories and emotions, coupled with their intimate awareness of how women wear their jewelry, is evident throughout their prolific collections.

Talismanic themes of luck and good fortune are common motifs for the brand.

Talismanic themes of luck and good fortune are common motifs for the brand. Their aesthetic foundation is rooted in their Stories of Love collection, which evokes a sense of unity, hope and faith in the future and includes their signature “Love Explosion” design, a diamond starburst exploding with love.

Their Stories of Wishes collection features icons of the things we might wish upon, such as a shooting star, a rainbow or a four leaf clover, while their Stories of Elements collection is their whimsical interpretation of the four elements—earth, water, fire and air.

Stories of Faith offers collectors of the brand’s work to carry a piece of their faith with them, whether a Hamsa, an evil eye, a cross or a star of David. Regardless of one’s religious belief, their Spiritual Woman serves to balance the chakra and brings balance via a lotus flower, which represents strength, power and rebirth.

While all of their designs are consistent with their brand DNA, the themes that they bring to life are universal and are intended to have cross-cultural and cross-generational appeal, such as the Stories of Life collection, which conveys a time-honored mantra, “When one door closes, another one opens.” This phrase of hope and transcendence is inscribed on every door-shaped locket, which opens to include an engraving, picture or memento.

Camelia, Barbara and Emily posit that with integrity, love and hard work, wishes can become a reality, and their designs offer a means for expressing one’s intention through adornment. Their work is crafted in 14k gold and meticulously selected diamonds and colored gemstones, and the innovation they’ve built into their pieces speaks to the contemporary jewelry enthusiasts.

Pendants have designs on either side so they can be worn multiple ways, while many of their charms contain their unique “top switch” jump ring mechanism, which allows the charm to be worn on a necklace, bracelet or hoop earring. The brand also offers rings that flip to reveal different designs to showcase a pop of color or the rich warmth of gold, depending on the moment and mood.
